CAMP 0096 CORNER STEEL CLIMBING PITON
Spring Tension and U Profile The CAMP Corner model grips rock cracks firmly on traditional climbs. This is because the brand designs this equipment with a special U-shaped shaft profile. In particular, you drive the piton directly with a hammer into a crack narrower than its own width. In addition, thanks to this narrowing you immediately create a natural spring tension in the metal.
Indeed, unlike standard pitons you use this spring tension in addition to the wedging and lever force. Moreover, with this triple combination of forces you lock the equipment into the rock much more firmly. In fact, you safely use this device in flaring or parallel cracks in hard rock. This way, you set up a protection point compliant with the standards on traditional (trad) climbs.
Chromoly Steel and Sizes On the other hand, you get the equipment specially made from hardened chromoly steel material. If you look closely, thanks to this hard construction you directly prevent the risk of bending or deformation under hammer blows. That is, you always preserve the form of the equipment even in long-term use. At the same time, the brand manufactures this series in different thicknesses and lengths from 1 to 4.
In addition, you set the N.3 and N.4 sizes directly as the main protection (safety) point. In this way, you use the N.1 and N.2 sizes for progression purposes during the climb. Typically, traditional climbers definitely add this solid equipment in its different sizes to their basic rack. In short, you complete placements properly in the different openings in the rock.
