The Petzl Maestro L is a specially developed rescue/lowering device used for lowering loads of up to 280 kg. It works on 12.5 – 13 mm ropes. The Maestro L has been developed for technical rescue operations. It is used for lowering or lifting heavy loads. It can be used as the main load bearer as well as a backup.
 
Thanks to its versatile intended use, it can be adapted to various technical situations that may arise during a rescue operation. The ergonomic lowering handle and the integrated braking mechanism provide a controlled descent. The transition from the lowering position to the load lifting position can be made instantly without transferring the load. Its low-friction sheave allows loads to be lifted without loss.
