Petzl GRIGRI® Belay Device D014

For a wide range of single rope diameters (8.5 to 11 mm), the assisted braking belay device PETZL GRIGRI Belay Device is an assisted braking belay device designed for climbing both in the gym and on rock. It is compact and light and can be used with single ropes between 8.5 and 11 mm. The assisted braking function makes it easier to lower a climber or stop a fall.
 
The design of the handle and cam mechanism provides outstanding descent control. An assisted braking device compatible with a wide range of single rope diameters for both the climbing gym and rock: Feeding the rope and stopping a fall are done using classic belay techniques; always keep one hand on the brake side of the rope. Ease of use thanks to assisted braking: when a climber falls, the device pivots on the carabiner, the rope is tightened and the cam pinches and brakes the rope.
 
Holding the brake side of the rope helps the cam grip the rope; for this reason it is important always to hold the brake side of the rope. Compatible with dynamic single ropes between 8.5 – 11 mm, optimised for 8.9 – 10.5 mm. A rope installation diagram is engraved on the inside and outside of the device. Outstanding ease when lowering: The ergonomic handle allows you to release the rope easily and lower someone.
