A Beal brand type A semi-static rope model suitable for use in caving. BEAL ropes are coated with a special chemical in order to extend the life of the rope by increasing its resistance to abrasion and wetting. When the rope is new the friction between descent and belay devices and the rope will be reduced. Thermo Fluid: An infrared treatment that stabilises the sheath fibres and thereby makes the yarns more homogeneous.
 
As a result of this treatment it is more compact and has better durability.
